In this article (Chinese only), Shanghainese rights activist Feng Zhenghu (冯正虎) narrates how he sent a letter to CPC Secretary-General and PRC President Xi Jinping (习近平) in December 2012, with a complaint on how he spent 268 days in illegal detention in 2012, and what happened as a result.
On December 7, 2012, Feng mailed Xi a complaint that he had originally mailed to three prosecutorial departments. In the complaint, Feng accused officers of three Shanghai public security departments—the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau along with its Yangpu District Branch and Wujiaochang Substation—of illegally depriving him of his personal freedom for 268 days in 2012. Feng requested an investigation and for the offenders to be held criminally responsible for their illegal acts.
According to Feng, a month after he sent the letter to Xi Jinping, he was detained and interrogated in the Wujiaochang police substation on January 7-9, 2013. His home was also searched during that time. Several of Feng's personal items were confiscated, including two computers, two mobile phones, and a printer.
