HRIC: China Using Criminals to Intimidate Villagers

"A human rights group has accused China of using convicted criminals to intimidate villagers whose land is being confiscated in southeastern China.

Human Rights in China say the criminals, recently released from labor camps, joined police in demolishing homes and cutting off the water supply in the village of Wanli in Fujian province...

Human Rights in China says authorities have told villagers to leave their homes by September 18, or be forcibly removed from their property."
