“Don’t Continue Producing Cases of Injustice”—an open letter by the wife of detained lawyer Ding Jiaxi to relevant government organs

Luo Shengchun, wife of detained rights defense lawyer Ding Jiaxi (丁家喜), said in an open letter to the Beijing Public Security Bureau and the Beijing Procuratorate that her husband was criminally detained because he advocated for public disclosure of officials’ assets. Although the authorities interrogated Ding for over three months, they only said that he was harmful to society, and couldn’t name precisely what crime he had committed. Luo says her husband has done only what a lawyer with conscience should do.
