Lawyer Jiang Tianyong's "Hunger Strike Statement"

May 9, 2016

To show solidarity with Guo Feixiong, Yu Shiwen, the individuals arrested in the 709 Incident, and others persecuted simply for their righteousness, Beijing human rights lawyer Jiang Tianyong fasted in a hunger strike on May 9, for the full day. In his "Hunger Strike Statement" he says that he doesn’t aim to soften, move, or stir the hearts of those persecuted, but to tell them he firmly stands by their side. He also aims to remind himself and the world of the large group of citizens who are suffering simply for striving for freedom and dignity for all Chinese citizens.
