Highlights of My First Meeting with Tu Fu in Detention Center

Lawyer Li Fangping shares details of of his first meeting with Fujian activist Tu Fu (aka Wu Gan). He says he was moved by Tu’s optimism, humor, warmth, perseverance, calm, and sense of responsibility. The meeting lasted less than an hour. Tu Fu was detained on May 19, initially sentenced to administrative detention for 10 days, and later, on May 27, criminally detained on charges of “picking quarrels and provoking troubles” and "defamation."


看守所首见屠夫花絮

会见屠夫那天恰逢敏感日,福建永泰看守所特意安排在10点,进去时还提示11点就下班。我们两位律师推开会见室进去时,屠夫马上躬腰站着眯眼辨认。当听到我们叫他的声音,他激动的说:“是方平”、“是王宇”,然后大笑起来。铐在审讯椅上的屠夫还身穿全世界反对者酷爱的“V字复仇队”文化衫,我们还没落座他就摇头晃脑的说:“我写的东西,被他们收走了,说要审查”。短短不到一小时的会见,我们都被屠夫的乐观、诙谐、幽默、温情、执着、坦然和担当的性格和心态所感动。原本我还一直牵挂担心庆安被拘的同仁,瞬间好像突然平静下来。会见花絮我也记录与大家分享。

1、阵势庞大的专案组。

5月27日晚十点,福建来了一批特警把我从南昌拘留所带回福州,28日关到永泰看守所。为我屠夫一个人的事,省里成立了专案组。短短几天提审我的警察就有十几个了,有省厅的、福州的、厦门的、泉州的,阵势很大。

2、没有预料、但很释然。

我还是有预期的,没想到是这次。屠夫挑战官府这么多年,早晚要面对,也必须要面对的。我没有一丁点儿愤怒,进来了反而很释然。为不公不义的事,奔波这么多年,终于进来,权当放松自己吧!屠夫现在的任务就是吃好喝好、保持精神饱满、斗志昂扬。

3、不惧抹黑,反视荣耀。

屠夫对刑拘后人民日报、新华社、人民公安报、人民法院报、环球时报、央视的报道一无所知。听完律师转述后,他有些错愕:很可笑,没搞错吧?屠夫多年的所作所为,自有网友评判,官媒有什么资格评判?屠夫会因为你们的污名化就能贬损?如果有,只会让屠夫更加感到无上荣耀!

4、粗中有柔,俗中有雅。

问家里有什么交代时,屠夫的粗放表象立马逆转,透出深深的温情。他和太太彼此以“猪猪”、“娃娃”相称。吴太太带话说:“猪猪你还好吗?”、“是不是变苗条了呀!”“想你猪猪~亲亲”。屠夫要我们转告:“娃娃,想你和小娃娃”、“娃娃,你要看下脚和胃,不要拖了!”。

问:需要带点什么?答:老游和我表弟存的2000元收到了,给我送点哲学、唐诗、宋词的书进来。
